I’ve been looking for months for an artist that could bring my book to life. After an exhaustive search, I’ve selected Ryan Moeck to design the cover.
The current plan for the cover is part of ch 2 where Troy, the main character, is at the shipyard with his dad looking for a used freighter. It depicts the moment Dad excitedly points out the ugliest piece of junk in the entire shipyard.
I’m excited to see what Ryan is able to do. Based on his portfolio, I’m expecting something pretty great. Hopefully it will attract the kind of readers to Captain Kindheart that enjoy a coming-of-age type adventure story.
Welcome! This is where I share updates on my science fiction stories, including progress notes, excerpts, and reflections as they take shape. I write about average people in extraordinary circumstances, focusing on the decisions they make, the moral choices they face, and how emerging technology and politics quietly shape the world around them. Expect story updates, behind-the-scenes insights, and occasional thoughts on why hopeful endings still matter in speculative fiction.
