Free Sample Chapter from Captain Kindheart

I’ve made the first chapter of Captain Kindheart available for anybody that is interested in reading it. Just click the download link above or below this article and it will download immediately as a PDF (no registration required).

The chapter introduces the Kindheart universe and main character, Troy Rogers-Barrow. It starts with a few “Galactipedia” articles that explain some of the technology, how the calendar works, and why everybody seems to have two last names.

Once that is out of the way, we introduce Troy as a young boy, and discover what motivates him through the rest of the book. The chapter ends with Troy graduating from the Academy of Interstellar Commerce and going back home to Ankara Cluster, a collection of space stations out past the orbit of Mars where his parents and younger sister live. The adventure doesn’t start until chapter two, but hopefully this is enough to determine if you want to read the book or not.

I’m still looking for beta readers, so if you like the first chapter and want to read more about Troy’s adventures, send me a message and I’ll put you on the list to receive a free copy of the pre-published book. I’m starting on what I hope is my final editing pass through of the book, so hopefully it won’t be too long before I send out the beta version to everybody that has asked for it.

I hope you enjoy the sample!
